Brother 3 (三の字, San'noji) is a character from Afro Samurai.
He is the most laid back of the Empty Seven and was content to stare away from the group while they planned Afro's death. He is seen wearing a headset with the number 3 on it and bobbing his head to the music. He rarely speaks, but when he does he is revealed to have a southern accent.
He is quite pacifistic and often suggests non-violent alternatives. Alone of the Empty Seven, he attempted to use peaceful means to get the headband from Afro. On the way into the temple, he waited with a pot of hot tea and rice crackers and chanted 'headband please' in formal Japanese. Ninja Ninja took some tea and crackers, but Afro ignored the request. Brother 3 was the only one of the Empty Seven to survive.
After the first season it is revealed Brother 3 saved Brother 1 who is now paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Brother 3 runs a gaming house now. He attempts to cheat Afro in a game, with Afro's life as the stakes, but Afro spots the cheat and uses it as justification to threaten Brother 3's life. Brother 3 ransoms his life with knowledge about the new Number 2.
